Proverbs 31:28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Introduction: Today is Mother’s Day. I want to use the occasion to remind us of what GOD says about mothers.
The word “mothers” occurs in the Bible seven times. A mother isn’t perfect, but a home isn’t perfect that doesn’t have the right kind of mother. She is the completer of a home.
Our nation is not producing mothers.
I. LET’S ASK GOD TO RAISE UP MOTHERS WHO ARE SAVED

thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice;
and I am persuaded that in thee also.

A. Many were converted
B. Many were curious and investigated further
We need mothers who will go house to house with the GOSPEL, rather than
with GOSSIP!
IV. LET’S ASK GOD TO RAISE UP MOTHERS WHO ARE SACRIFICIAL GIVERS
Mark 12:43-44 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: 44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living. The stewardship of mothers in God’s work:
A. Has importance
1. Stewardship is for ALL
B. Has an impact
1. God blesses faithfulness, not figure amounts – Regular tithing secures God’s blessings
2. Inheritance gifts of mothers have purchased buildings, financed projects
3. It sets an example for the children
V. LET’S ASK GOD TO RAISE UP MOTHERS WHO ARE SUBMISSIVE TO THEIR HUSBANDS
Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
A. It is the plan of God –
1 Cor. 11:1-4
B. It is the picture for the next
generation
1. Mothers can teach their daughters that “Women’s Lib” is the devil’s fib!
VI. LET’S ASK GOD TO RAISE UP MOTHERS WHO ARE STUDENTS
OF SCRIPTURE

Luke 10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.
A. For their heart’s sake
B. For their home’s sake
VII. LET’S ASK GOD TO RAISE UP MOTHERS WHO ARE SERVANTS OF GOD
Philippians 4:3 And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.
A. Service must be regular
1. 1 Cor. 4:2
2. Mothers should be faithful to the Lord and His church
B. Service will be rewarded
1. Mothers do a lot behind the scenes that will be brought out to be “manifest” at the
Judgment Seat of Christ
