JESUS SAVES THE BEST FOR LAST

Scripture Reading: Job 42:10-17
Text: Job 42:12
Job 42:12 So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.
Introduction: Tonight I want to take one more look at Jesus from the Book of Job. Most people think this book is about Job, but it’s also about Jesus. It is a book about suffering, but it’s also about the SAVIOR. As with the rest of the Old Testament, the book of Job points to Jesus, even as the Lord said:
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Jesus met with two of His disciples right after He rose from the dead,
Luke 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
What we are going to see about Jesus tonight is called “the end of the Lord.” Our text says that “the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more
than his beginning …”
James 5:11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
Did you know that one of the great things about Jesus is that He saves the best for last?
Observe the reaction to Jesus’ very first public miracle, the turning of the water into wine at the marriage in Cana of Galilee:
John 2:9-10 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, 10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
JESUS SAVES THE BEST FOR LAST!
I. JESUS SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST IN HIS MINISTRY ON EARTH
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Many miracles: feeding of the multitudes, healing of the sick, raising of Lazarus, and much more …
But even better at the last …
A. The redemption of the cross
B. The resurrection from the tomb
C. The return trip to heaven
D. The release of the Holy Spirit
II. JESUS SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST IN THE MESSAGE OF THE BIBLE
Hebrews 7:22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
Hebrews 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
A. The last Testament
B. The last truth given by
inspiration
1. The Book of Revelation
2. The conclusion of all things
3. The warning about corrupting the Bible
4. The last invitation to salvation
5. The prayer for the Second Coming
C. The last translation? – the A.V. 1611?
III. JESUS SAVES THE BEST FOR LAST FOR MEN AND WOMEN WHO KNOW HIM
Hebrews 11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he
hath prepared for them a city.
A. A better happiness and
contentment
B. A better head and understanding
C. A better hope for the future
D. A better home than anything on
earth
