LET’S STABILIZE OUR HOMES!

Text: Psalm 11:3

Psalms 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

Introduction: Our nation is in trouble. Our schools have become horror houses where kids are afraid to go to the bathroom. We have pumped millions of dollars into the educational system and yet, not only can Johnny STILL not read, he’s dumber than he was 20 years ago! Many young people are committing suicide. One of out every two marriages are ending in divorce.

Americans have less economic security, less medical security, and less emotional security than we have had in my lifetime. I believe one of the main reasons is that the basic unit of our civilization, the family, is crumbling.

LET’S STABILIZE OUR HOMES!

I. LET’S STABILIZE OUR HOMES ABOUT MARRIAGE

Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

A. Let’s teach the purity of marriage

B. Let’s teach the pleasures of marriage

C. Let’s teach the permanence of marriage

II. LET’S STABILIZE OUR HOMES ABOUT MINISTRY

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

A. Let’s stabilize our family’s church affiliation

B. Let’s stabilize our family’s church attendance

C. Let’s stabilize our family’s church activities

III. LET’S STABILIZE OUR HOMES ABOUT MONEY

1 Corinthians 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

Let’s teach our family members GOD’S way and then be stable about:

A. The creation of money (wealth)

B. Contentment with money

C. The consecration of money

Tithes
Offerings
It ALL belongs to the Lord; we are just stewards!

D. Charity with money

We need to learn to work to bear our own burdens and to bear the burdens of others

IV. LET’S STABILIZE OUR HOMES ABOUT MORALS

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

B. About character C. About choices D. About cleanliness E. About companions
