DO YOU SAY THAT JESUS IS THE LORD?
By Michael D. O’Neal Pastor, Gospel Light Baptist Church Albany, Georgia
Scripture Reading: 1 Cor. 12:1-3
Text: 1 Cor. 12:3
1 Corinthians 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
Introduction: This week I was going from house to house in our town and one man tried to get me tied up with a lecture on the name of God. I told him that the name he needed to really understand was that of Jesus. I wrote Acts 4:12 on a tract for him and told him to meditate on it:
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
At one house this week a lady turned me away from her door saying, “I’m a Jehovah’s Witness.” I replied, “Happy to meet you! I’m a CHRISTIAN!”
This evening I am happy to confess that which no Jehovah’s Witness confesses, that Jesus is the Lord! He is not only THE Lord, but I claim Him as MY Lord.
