THE BREATH OF LIFE
By Michael D. O’Neal Pastor, Gospel Light Baptist Church Albany, Georgia
Scripture Reading: Gen. 2:1-7
Text: Genesis 2:7
Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Introduction: Our text is the 100 percent accurate, scientific account of the origin of man. Man did not come from an amoeba. He did not come from a monkey. He did not work his way out of the water up on the shore and gradually lose his fins and sprout legs. Man came from DIRT.
God formed man of the dust of the ground.
Then God breathed into His nostrils the breath of life.
Our theme for the year is “Come Alive in 2005.”
Life is associated with breath, and breath is associated with spirit.
The breath of God is the Spirit of God.
I believe that God can breathe life today, and cause that which is dead to come alive in 2005!
