AMERICA NEEDS A RETURN TO BIBLICAL MOTHERHOOD

Text: 2 Tim. 1:5
2 Timothy 1:5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.
Introduction: One of the greatest needs of America today is a return to Biblical motherhood.
The home is the basic unit of a church and of society. One of the keys to a successful home is a woman who is willing to be a godly wife and mother.
I. AMERICA NEEDS A RETURN TO THE PLAN OF GOD FOR MOTHERS
Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
God’s plan for mothers is MARRIAGE. America is becoming overrun with bastard babies. Women are having children like animals give birth. God intends for women to be BETTER than animals!
A woman should not let a man put his hand on her body until he has first put his ring on her finger!
God has a plan for mothers:
A. About partners in marriage
1. Not lesbians, but husband and wife
B. About permanence in marriage
1. Let not man put asunder
II. AMERICA NEEDS A RETURN TO THE PLACE OF HONOR FOR MOTHERS
Ephesians 6:2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise)
The most honorable, respectable role a woman can have is that of a mother.
And especially:
Proverbs 31:30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

III. AMERICA NEEDS A RETURN TO THE PRIORITIES OF OFFICE OF MOTHERHOOD
1 Timothy 5:14-15 I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully. 15 For some are already turned aside after Satan.
She should endeavor to be:
A. Approved of God
B. An assistant to her husband
C. Attentive to the children
IV. AMERICA NEEDS A RETURN TO THE PREPARATION OF DAUGHTERS FOR MOTHERHOOD
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Titus 2:3-5 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
To be mothers as GOD designed, daughters need:
A. Character
1. Holiness
2. Obedience
3. Faithfulness
4. Honesty
5. Service
B. Counsel
C. Courtship
1. A prospective mother should court under the watchful eyes of her father and mother
V. AMERICA NEEDS A RETURN TO PURITY OF LIFE IN MOTHERS
Proverbs 31:30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
A mother needs to be
A. Saved by grace
B. Separated in life
C. Studying in scripture
D. Submissive to her husband
E. Soul-winning in talk
F. Serving God in church
