THE SAVIOR’S SOUL-WINNING SCHOOL

Matthew 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

Introduction: In my opinion, the most exciting things going on at our church, and this has been true for several years, are our soul-winning training programs – Operation GLEAM (Gospel Light Evangelistic Army of Men) and Operation GLOW (Gospel Light Outreach of Women)

Today we are accepting new members for the upcoming 13-week session.

Wouldn’t you like to be a soul-winner? If you’re saved, you’re supposed to be one. It’s not just for preachers; it’s for pew-sitters! It’s not just for the pastor; it’s for the people!

I want you to see that not only is soul-winning scriptural, but that training for soul-winning is scriptural.

I want to encourage you today to enroll in

THE SAVIOR’S SOUL-WINNING SCHOOL

  I. A SIMPLE TUITION
     “FOLLOW me”

     A. Soul-winning is a decision
        of the will
        1. It is a choice you make
        2. It is a command you obey

     B. Soul-winning is a direction
        of a walk
        1. Following JESUS

     C. Soul-winning is a dedication
        to a way

 II. THE SUPREME TEACHER
     “Follow ME”

     A. Follow His priorities
        1. It’s better than grocery
           shopping and filling your
           belly – Jn. 4

     B. Follow His passion
        1. He wept in compassion
        2. He walked cross country
        3. He worked constantly
        4. He went to the cross

     C. Follow His pattern
        1. He looked for sinners
        2. He lifted sinners

III. THE SCHEDULED TRAINING
     “I will make you”

     A. By the presence of the Spirit
        of God
        1. He shall guide you into all truth
        2. He shall teach you
        3. He shall bring all things
           to your remembrance
        4. Rom. 8:14 – The Holy Spirit leads
           all believers

     B. By the pastor over the sheep
        1. See 1 Cor. 11:1; Eph. 4:11-12

     C. By the precepts of the scriptures
        – Ps. 119:105

     D. By the partners of the saints
        1. Prov. 13:20; 11:30

     E. By the participation in
        soul-winning
        1. You learn by going and by
           doing
       
 IV. THE SPECIAL TASK
     “fishers of men”

     A. There must be a plan
        1. Time
        2. Territory
        3. Tools

     B. There must be a performance
        1. You must DO it
        2. The Gospel is a GO message!

     C. There must be persistence
        1. A true fisherman CATCHES fish,
           and one reason he does so is
           that he keeps going.

Conclusion: Will you enlist in the Savior’s Soul-Winning School today?
